If you’re a World War II buff, you won’t find a more in-depth look than Ray Harris Jr.’s incredible podcast that has been ongoing since 2012.

History buffs will need no encouragement to check it out, but the podcast sells those not instantly attracted to 19th century conflict by noting, "Napoleon Bonaparte was one of the most significant and fascinating characters in history" with a "remarkable, controversial personal story."

The art history graduates Natalie De La Torre and Corrie Hendricks are enjoying their new brush with fame.

Napoleon walks — crawls really — through Napoleon's time, but spends countless hours weaving in important context, digressions, and overarching historical information. There's a reason it's called the age and not life of Napoleon. It's a show about both how that historical era formed Napoleon and how Napoleon formed that historical era. It's also impeccably researched and thorough.

This isnt the first episodic true crime podcast of its kind, but it’s earned five stars from almost 10,000 listeners for a reason.

Since its release in January 2018, Swindled is building an impressive back catalogue of haunting accounts of corruption, fraud and embezzlement all with devastating consequences. Each episode of Swindled reminds listeners of how easy it is for innocent schemes to snowball into complex crimes.

When Ms. Flowers and her best friend from childhood, Brit Prawat, started “Crime Junkie” in 2017, the true crime genre was already a crowded one…. A spokesman for Apple said that “Crime Junkie” is often the top podcast across all categories.

A new podcast network that just focuses on true crime has been launched: murder·ly describes itself as “podcasts to die for”.

Crime Junkie now has 24 million downloads a month across their entire catalog.

Another unique contribution to the world of true crime podcasts. You gotta hear this guy’s storytelling, though. Bonus: Each episode, he opens with a smaller case that has the same theme as the main case, so you get a one-two punch of true crime.

Hosts like Steven Pacheco of Trace Evidence, Marissa Jones of The Vanished, Nina Innsted of Already Gone, the writers of Casefile, and several others I could name routinely go out of their way to memorialize and give biographies to victims.

If this podcast could be summarized in two words, they would be: corporate evil. These white-collar criminals would stop at nothing to get what they wanted, no matter the cost.

The podcast, which started in 2015 with five listeners, has grown to 108 episodes and a total of 8 million downloads. The 48-year-old Hastings teacher said he averages between 40,000 and 60,000 listeners per episode. It’s gotten so popular, he’s nearly able to support himself, his wife and teenage daughter on the advertising revenue brought in by the show.

In addition to telling compelling stories of corruption and greed, “Swindled” will capture listeners’ attention with its mysterious host, an anonymous man who calls himself “A Concerned Citizen.”

In their quest to bring equity to the true-crime genre “in [their] own weird way,” hosts Alvin Williams and Francel Evans started this podcast to tell each other murder stories involving people of color. Recent episodes have included the Tuskegee Experiment, obscure cold cases, and the tragic murders of Elijah McClain and Vanessa Guillen.

Williams, the second podcaster to go public, first shared his account of that evening’s events on his show, Affirmative Murder.

This independent podcast hosted by an anonymous "Concerned Citizen" is all about white-collar crime, exploring true stories of corporate corruption, fraud, con-art, and other financially motivated crimes that have had large and often far-reaching effects.
